Clinicians and GPs   You are here: Home » Engagement In Bedfordshire » Clinicians And GPs (2014)

One of the key principles of the Review is that local clinicians make key local decisions and are the lead voice for the Review.

As such, GPs and clinicians have been closely involved in developing the options for local healthcare that will be taken to public consultation.

Clinical Forum

The Clinical Forum provided hospital clinicians, GPs, nurses and anyone who treats patients in the Bedfordshire area with an opportunity to feed into the Healthcare Review. The Clinical Forum met in line with our Stakeholder Forum and there were 30 members of the forum, attending from Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas.

GPs

We are in regular contact with GPs about the Review. Information has been included in fortnightly e-newsletters, letters from BCCG Chief Clinical Officer Dr Paul Hassan (see right), face-to-face briefing sessions for each of our five localities, attendance at locality Board meetings and through articles in locality newsletters.

We have also worked closely with GP practice managers to help spread the word about the Review with their patients, including provision of leaflets and posters, adverts for their display screens, links to go onto their practice websites and articles for patient newsletters.
