Bedfordshire multi-cultural centres and groups   You are here: Home » Bedfordshire Community Groups » Bedfordshire Multi-cultural Centres And Groups

As part of our commitment to involve as many people as possible in the Healthcare Review from all sections of our community, we've been out to visit the following multi-cultural groups.

You can read summaries of all of the feedback on the right.

Polish British Integration Centre (27 June 2014)

The Healthcare Review team visited the Polish British Integration Centre on 27 June 2014, where people said that they were happy with Bedford Hospital and its staff, who were seen as competent, caring and supportive.

Interpreting services and community services were also singled out as being good, as was communication between doctors and hospitals.

However, waiting times were felt to be too long and some GP services were identified as poor. People felt there should be better access to paediatrics and that there should be support with travel expenses to services outside Bedford.

Queen’s Park Muslim Self Defence Group (2 April 2014)

We were also out gathering feedback at Queen’s Park Muslim Self Defence Group on 2 April 2014, with more responses added on 7 July.

There was praise for the fracture clinic, day clinics and walk-in centres, and people found their GPs and practice nurses professional and reliable.

They raised concerns about not having their own doctors on out-of-hours duty, keeping dementia patient carers informed and problems with drunk patients in A&E.
