BCCG staff   You are here: Home » Engagement In Bedfordshire » BCCG Staff (2014)

As well as letting people outside our organisation know about the Healthcare Review, it was also important to involve our own staff, who are closely involved in commissioning healthcare services for the people of Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire.

We have kept staff regularly updated on the progress of the Review through our weekly 'Staff News' email and monthly face-to-face staff meetings. We also held some dedicated workshops and meetings to invite BCCG staff to feed their own views and experiences into the Review.

In March 2014, we ran a workshop where we asked staff to consider their aspirations for local healthcare, what barriers there were to change and potential solutions.

On 24 June 2014, when potential models of care had started to emerge, we held a workshop to share the current thinking and get staff's input on what’s happened so far, to ensure that it was in line with how they perceived the overall direction of care in Bedfordshire from their perspective in the CCG. The event was very well attended and stimulated interesting debate on the models, as well as giving the opportunity to ask questions.

A further staff event took place on 22 July 2014, where we discussed the five potential options for in hospital care, and an event was held on 29 September 2014 to bring staff up to date on the progress of the Review.
